KP to Launch Province-Wide Measles, Rubella Vaccination Drive
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Health Department has announced a large-scale vaccination campaign against Measles and Rubella (MR), scheduled to begin on November 17 and continue until November 28, 2025.
The initiative aims to protect children between six months and five years — the age group most vulnerable to MR infections.
Schools Across KP to Participate
Health teams will visit private and government schools across the province to administer vaccines. Authorities have directed all educational institutions to fully cooperate with medical teams and ensure smooth access to children.
Officials said legal action will be taken against any school or organisation that refuses to facilitate the vaccination process, as per provincial health laws.
Follow-Up & Monitoring
To achieve full coverage, monitoring teams will conduct follow-up visits to verify that all eligible children have received their doses. The campaign is part of a broader national effort and will run alongside outreach drives in communities and remote areas.
Part of Nationwide Immunisation Effort
As reported earlier by Pashto Times, Pakistan’s national Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI), in collaboration with UNICEF, has planned a countrywide MR campaign starting in November.
EPI officials expanded the vaccination plan after data indicated that children under five remain the most affected group.
